Welcome to SHS... Semenov Hockey School was founded in 1997 by long-time NHL and Europeanhockey star Anotoli Semenov. Currently, the school exist to provide hockey players with the best hockey instruction throughout the nation. We (the coaching staff) strongly believe that a player can become the best only by learning from the best. This philosophy is the reason why Anotoli (Tony) Semenov and his professional staff commit themselves to each and every player who attends our school. We are not here to sign autographs, we are here to help you develop your skills.

SHS is pleased to announce weekly skill clinics for the 2005-2006 season. In cooperation with the California Stars Youth Hockey Organization and Center Ice Arena, SHS provides weekly skill development clinics that are open to players age squirt through midget. The Tuesday evening clinic is a 1-hour, high intensity session of progressive drill sequences designed to help players develop a complete package of hockey skills. SHS clinics are conducted by a professional instructional staff committed to teaching young players to maximize their potential while building confidence in their overall skills. SHS believes that the most effective drills are those that simulate game situations and build a foundation of skating and puck control. Players are encouraged to challenge their own limits while executing the drills within high traffic areas. Internationally hockey experts agree that total hockey instruction must include 3 key characteristics requiring the player to perform at high tempo, for short duration and within confined space. SHS drills do not teach players to rehearse pre determined moves against static obstacles like cones while completely unencumbered. In contrast, SHS drill sequences are part of a progression-training program that stresses balance, skating technique, and agility thereby creating overall versatility preparing players as they encounter elevated competition.
